Hey everyone, Sam here. Just wanted to give a brief recap of what happened in Senate tonight, since a ton got accomplished.

First off, I appointed the two Chairs: External Affairs Chairperson Ethan Senack, and Academic Affairs Chairperson Grace Collins. I also appointed the five undergrad members of the University Senate: myself, Daniel Hanley, Nina Hunter, Rebecca D’Angelo, and Melanie Deziel. Finally, I appointed Kate Smith to the new UConn Reads Committee. All 8 appointments were confirmed by the Senate.

Then we had what may have been the most important Senate in a long time – we debated and passed the new Funding Board Policies, the new Financial Policies and Procedures, amended our Bylaws to alter USG’s committee structure, and passed the new budget for Fall 2011. Each of these documents will be available online in the next few days, and I will be posting them with my comments about the changes.
